In this short talk, Sheikh Abdul Nasir Jangda highlights the importance of sticking to prayer as it is the original cure for all spiritual diseases that subtly cultivates good habits and inclinations.
He begins his talk by reciting the following verse from Surat Al-Baqarah (the 1st Chapter of the Qur’an) to demonstrate to the necessity of guarding one’s prayer as if it is a valuable commodity.
The Almighty Allah says:
Maintain with care the [obligatory] prayers and [in particular] the middle prayer and stand before Allah, devoutly obedient. (Al-Baqarah 2:238)
Allah tells us to watch very carefully over our prayer. Imagine that you have a diamond or very valuable jewels, how would you protect them? You will take a room that solely dedicated to the protection of that precious thing and other protection tools. In the same way, we must commit and guard our prayer as it is the foundation of our religion and it is Prayer that could drastically improve all the different areas of our life.
After that, Sheikh Abdul Nasir gives us some tips on how to be regular with prayer:
1- punctuality
It is recommended to offer prayer at the mosque as in this way you would have to pray on time, but offering it at home, work, or a public place is a cause for delaying or neglecting it.
2- Take Prayer as a priority.
3- Create a system for prayer.
