The Ruling on Missing Out the Sujud of Recitation with the Imam?

The Ruling on Missing Out the Sujud of Recitation with the Imam?

Question:

I was praying Fajr Prayer (Dawn) behind the Imam (leader of prayer) and the Imam went for sujud At-Tilawah (prostration of recitation), and I did ruku` (bowing) but later I realized my mistake. Then I did sujud of recitation and continued the prayer behind the imam, and at the end before tasleemو I made sujud As-Sahw (prostration of forgetfulness), is this correct?

Answer:

In the name of Allah, we praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright.

If the imam makes the prostration of recitation and the person praying behind him thinks that he has bowed, so he bowed and did not realize that the imam was prostrating until after the Imam got up from prostration; in this case, the person who bowed has to stand up, follow the imam, bow with the imam and carry on, and the prostration of recitation is waived in this case. This is because the prostration of recitation is not a pillar or essential part of the prayer. It is only an act of Sunnah that has been missed at the proper time. In addition, you do not have to make the prostration of forgetfulness at the end of the prayer because you follow the imam.
