What Should Be Done during I`tikaf?

`A’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated, “The Prophet (peace be upon him) used to engage himself in I`tikaf (seclusion for worship in the mosque) during the last ten days of Ramadan till he passed away. His wives followed this practice after him.” (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

It is strongly emphasized that some people in each community make i`tikaf during the entire last 10 days of Ramadan, as this was from the communal guidance and practice of the Prophet.
