Ruling on Performing Ablution Naked??
Question:
Is it permissible for a Muslim to perform ablution while he/she is not wearing clothes at all or wearing clothes that reveal some parts of the `awrah?
Answer:
There is nothing in the Qur’an or the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace be upon him) which states that performing wudu’ (ablution) while naked is invalid.
Yet, there is a consensus among scholars that if one happens to perform the ablution while in a state of nakedness, their ablution would be considered valid.
Regarding the limits of `awrah for both men and women, and the ruling of performing ablution without wearing clothes, watch this interesting Fatwa with Dr. Muhammad Salah.
