Praying `Isha’ Early during Summer Time: Allowed?

Praying Isha’ Early during Summer Time

Question:

Can I offer `Isha’ Prayer early during summer time?

Answer:

In the name of Allah, We praise Him, seek His help and ask for His forgiveness. Whoever Allah guides none can misguide, and whoever He allows to fall astray, none can guide them aright.

Almighty Allah says:

Indeed, prayer has been decreed upon the believers a decree of specified times.” (An-Nisa’ 4:103)

Um Farwah – and she was one of those who gave pledge of allegiance to the Prophet – narrated: “The Prophet (peace be upon him) was asked: ‘Which deed is the best?’ So he said: ‘Prayer in the beginning of its time.'” (At-Tirmidhi)

There are northern locations where `Isha’ (Night Prayer) ends at 11:15 pm and Fajr (Dawn Prayer) comes in at 3 am. The general ruling is that Fajr starts at 1 hour and 30 minutes or 1 hour and 20 minutes before sunrise. Remember this to make the situation better.

If a person has it tough because of work or genuine difficulty then it is allowed on a case by case basis to combine Maghrib (Sunset Prayer) and `Isha’ and not as a general ruling. You should not take this lightly and be very careful about it.

Watch this short talk to know more about such ruling with Sheikh Abu Eesa.
